The facilities are equipped with holding rooms for pigs, as well as various analyzing equipment for further research. These include green house gas emission cameras for measuring gas emissions for up to 4 adult pigs or 20 piglets, a small surgery room with anesthesia equipment, a laboratory for semen quality research, an embryon transfer lab, and many other possibilities available as a part of the facility's infrastructure. We do not have our own mill however we cooperate with a local mill (Dobeles dzirnavnieks) that is the largest feed and food producer in Latvia, this allows us to run feed trial, using novel feed technologies. Our institution doesn't own a slaughterhouse either however local slaughterhouses (one large scale and one small scale slaughterhouse) can provide us with the necessary services and meet quality evaluation, as well university`s lab can provide us with the meet quality and chemical analysis.
