Additional information

Our trial facilities comprise various sections, each designated for a specific phase of pig growth and development: We have four sections specifically designed for baby pigs or piglets, each weighing between 3-5 kg and approximately 25±3 days old at the time of weaning. Each of these sections includes four pens, each capable of housing up to 30 piglets. Manual feeding is practiced in these sections. There are eight sections designated for piglets with an average weight of 6.5 kg at the day of weaning, which also occurs at around 25±3 days of age. Each section has eight double pens for trial purposes. These piglets undergo performance trials for the first six weeks after weaning, focusing on the 6-30 kg weight range. To assist in the process, we have incorporated an automatic feeding system from Agrisys, which facilitates individual feeding at each feed dispenser. The feed utilized in these trials is produced directly on the farm. We can also evaluate feces scores using a newly developed computer vision feces score technique. Furthermore, we're equipped to collect samples of feed, feces, urine, and organ tissues for more detailed analyses. Currently we only make feeding trials on newly weaned pigs. However, we're actively working on expanding our services. Our facilities also include a sow unit, which produces approximately 40,000 piglets annually. This unit operates with around 1,100 sows in weekly operation. The weaning sections, built in 2015, are spread over a 4000 m² area. This includes eight sections, each offering 750 pen places. Each section is further divided into 24 pens, with every two pens sharing a dry feed dispenser.
