- The Research Unit for Animal Nutrition of MATE has the facility to conduct performance trials, digestibility or metabolic studies. Performance studies with 30 individual pens for growing-finishing pigs (25-120kg) are available. In addition, metabolic studies with 30 individual metabolic cages for piglets (7-25 kg BW) and 24 for growing-finishing pigs (25-80kg BW), are offered. A surgery room serves the preparation for cannula implantation if needed.

Additional information
- The Research Unit for Animal Nutrition of MATE has the facility to conduct performance trials, digestibility or metabolic studies. Performance studies with 30 individual pens for growing-finishing pigs (25-120kg) are available. In addition, metabolic studies with 30 individual metabolic cages for piglets (7-25 kg BW) and 24 for growing-finishing pigs (25-80kg BW), are offered. A surgery room serves the preparation for cannula implantation if needed. Combined studies can be arranged with the research installation CT LAB of Medicopus where CT scanning is available. Offered research activity includes feed production, proximate analysis of the feed, daily caretaking, feeding animals, weighing animals, measuring feed intake, scoring fecal consistency, blood sampling, fecal, urine and/or digesta sampling, surgery to implant cannula and general support (in trial design, ethics committee approval, data analysis and data interpretation).
